Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.43 g, 6 h), Rome, late 121-123. IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. P M TR P COS III Hadrian standing front in military attire, head to left, holding rudder on globe in his right hand and inverted spear in his left. BMC 237. Cohen 1162. RIC 567. An wonderful, sharply struck example, perfectly centered and with a fine portrait. Minor edge splits and with a few faint marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
